Making A Goal For Yourself

Today I signed up for a program called Champlain loses it. It is a program that is like the TV show The Biggest Loser. The program will last for 10 weeks long. It will include having a personal trainer, and eating healthy, and obviously working out to lose some weight. Some people have a goal to lose weight for a certain event. Whereas for me, my goal is to just be healthy and fit again. Yeah I would love to look good in my dress for Snowball or even for spring break or summer time. But when I go to the gym I think of me working out as helping me fight off health problems, or just in general being a fit person. I am not a big person, I am more of an average weight, but I would love to have some more abs and lose the extra weight I have gained from the dining hall food on campus.

My new years resolution, like everyone else's , was to lose weight. This time I plan to stick to this resolution unlike previous years of my life. So far I have been going to the gym non stop for the last two weeks. This not only makes me feel more energetic during the day but also helps with my stress level. Going to the gym helps get my thoughts out in a different type of way. For example if I am worrying about anything, I just run it out. Working out benefits me in so many different ways, I have no idea why I ever pulled myself away from running. Keeping my resolution, was the best thing I could have done. Now that I know that working out makes me feel better about myself and just in general feel good, I wont be able to stop going.

What is your goal for your weight? What is your motivation to go to the gym? Are you happy with the way you look? Do you think having a goal for something is a good thing? This entry goes along with my previous entry about happiness. Yeah, things around you make you happy but you have to be happy with yourself before anyone else. For me going to the gym is helping with me being positive about the way I look everyday. Not that I was really worried before about my weight haha just it makes me a more positive person.

I think that setting a goal for yourself is a real good idea. It doesn't have to be for the gym, it could be for anything that you like to do or just get better at. Some goals in my life that I would love to accomplish is to be successful for one. But other things would be to learn how to play the piano, dance better than I do, write something that actually has meaning, be healthy, not to worry about the small things, and to do good in school. There are many other goals, I am sure, I just can not think of them at this moment. So think, what are your goals that you wish to accomplish? You should fight for them, they will give you happiness and you will be able to think positive about yourself, I guarantee.

  1. Oh gosh, I can't even count the number of New Year's resolutions I have made and not followed through with in the end. A goal is a better way to look at it. You can set those anytime of year and they can include short and long term goals. My newest goal is to eat healthier than I already do, by making snacks fruits and veggies, instead of chips, brownies etc. and eat less processed food. I also want to begin exercising regularly. I definitely could be a lot healthier; my plan to take it in baby steps, one day at a time. One of my long term goals would be to travel across the United States in my retirement years with my hubby, stopping in all the different towns and cities and just staying in each until we've seen what we want to see. I've set all kinds of goals my whole life and will definitely be continuing.
